New online legal service launched
Value-for-money advice on business documentation is available from commercial lawyers at the click of a mouse following the launch of a new online service.
Starting this month companies are able to go to ContractStore.com’s website and obtain legal services from a team of commercial lawyers able to advise on a wide range of business documentation, from the drafting of a simple confidentiality agreement to the complex wording of a bespoke contract.
Advice is dispensed via email by lawyers from around the world who are expert in a variety of jurisdictions. Clients are informed of the fixed price that will be charged before the work is undertaken. The preparation of a contract from scratch costs from around £100-£200, while advice on adapting a contract already purchased from ContractStore’s new-look website costs from as little as £50.
Giles Dixon, Director of ContractStore, said: “For the first time small and medium-sized businesses that otherwise would have to go to a high street lawyer, can obtain as good a service online for a fraction of the cost. Also fixed-prices are flagged up before the work is undertaken, so businesses do not have to worry about what the ultimate size of the bill is going to be.”
Another service due to be launched soon is the availability of a virtual ‘dealroom’, which allows various parties in a commercial deal to negotiate the terms of a contract. Similar in concept to hiring an office, the online dealroom saves time and money, allows fast communication between people in different places and is inexpensive.
An Information Centre allows users to read articles on law and business, read detailed explanations of what is in contracts, and download useful free documents. This ranges from documents explaining UK employment law to a summary of the new law governing investment in Iraq by foreign companies.
Editor’s Notes
The ContractStore was founded three years ago to enable companies to download from the Internet a wide range of international and domestic business contracts, legal agreements, commercial contracts and other legal documents, at reasonable prices. With every purchase, individuals receive the legal documents ordered plus a set of explanatory notes. All legal documents are clearly written in plain language and are prepared by lawyers trained in the common law system that, between them, have more than 70 years’ experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts internationally.
